Black Forest Dump Cake with Oreo Crumbs

Ingredients:
For the Cake:
- 1 box of chocolate cake mix
- 2 cups of Oreos (roughly chopped or crumbled)
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder, optional
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, optional
- 1 cup of mini chocolate chips, optional
For the Topping:

- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipped cream (or a can of whipped cream)
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar (if using heavy cream)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (if using heavy cream)
- Extra crushed Oreos, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:

- Preheat your oven to 180°C. Make sure your oven rack is positioned in the middle.
- Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Spread the cherry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. This creates the juicy, fruity base of the cake.
- Evenly sprinkle the chocolate cake mix over the cherries. Do not mix or stir; just spread it out evenly.
- Scatter the crushed Oreos on top of the cake mix. You want a good layer, but don’t worry if it’s uneven.
- Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake mix and Oreos. The milk will seep into the dry cake mix as it bakes, creating a moist, gooey texture. You can use a spoon to spread it out slightly, but it's okay if it doesn't cover everything perfectly.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top. This will help create a golden, crispy layer on top of the cake as it bakes.
- If you like an extra chocolate boost, sprinkle cocoa powder over the top or add mini chocolate chips along with the Oreos.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes. The cake is ready when the top is golden brown, and the cake mix has absorbed some of the moisture, leaving the edges crispy and the center soft. The cherry filling will bubble up along the sides.
- If you're using heavy whipped cream, whip it up! In a mixing bowl, combine the whipped cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, beat on high speed until stiff peaks form. Note: If you're using store-bought whipped cream, simply shake the can well and spray a generous amount on each serving.
- Once the dump cake has cooled for about 5-10 minutes, cut it into squares. Serve each piece with a dollop of freshly whipped cream or a few sprays of store-bought whipped cream.
- For a pop of flavor, top each serving with more crushed Oreos. You can also sprinkle on some extra chocolate chips or even shaved chocolate for an extra indulgent touch.
Tips:
- For an even richer dessert, you can add a layer of cream cheese or whipped cream cheese on top of the cherry filling before adding the cake mix. This creates a creamy, tangy layer in the dump cake.
- If you want to make it more indulgent, serve the cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream alongside it.
