Modern Indian Coconut Barfi For Festive Feasts

Introduction

Bring modern flair to simple coconut barfi to make it festive appropriate. With this easy recipe, you can make coconut barfi a creative and utterly delicious dessert without putting in much effort.

Ingredients

2 cups desiccated coconut
1 cup condensed milk
½ cup milk or coconut milk
2 tbsp ghee
½ tsp cardamom powder
1 pinch saffron strands
2 tbsp chopped pistachios

Toast Coconut

Heat a pan and dry roast desiccated coconut on low flame for 3 minutes until it's fragrant.

Cook Barfi Mixture

Add condensed milk, milk, ghee, and saffron-soaked milk into pan. Stir continuously until it becomes a thick mixture.

Flavor and Set

Mix in cardamom powder and rose water. Cook until mixture starts leaving the sides of pan.

Shape

Grease a tray and pour the mixture in it. Spread evenly, top with pistachios and set in the fridge for 30 minutes. Slice and serve.
