Dairy Milk Badam Halwa Recipe: Step-By-Step Guide
Preparing almond paste

Soak almonds in water for 1 hour.

After 1 hour, remove the skin and grind the soaked almonds in a blender.

Add a little milk with almonds before grinding. You can also use water. Make a smooth paste.
Cooking the halwa

Heat a pan and add ghee. Let the ghee melt. Then add suji and shallow-fry it until the color changes.

Now add almond paste to the same pan. Start mixing it immediately.

Once suji and almond paste are mixed, pour ½ cup milk and stir again.

Once the milk is reduced, add some saffron strands. This is for a better aroma. If you don't like saffron, you can skip this step.

Next, add another ½ cup of milk and cook for 5 more minutes.
Now break Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk chocolates into pieces and add them. Let it melt. Once melted, start mixing it with kheer.
Keep cooking until a creamy texture forms. Let it cool. Garnish and enjoy.
You can add more dry fruits for added richness.
Pro-Tips for the Perfect Texture
How to fix dry halwa?
Halwas often turn dry due to a lack of liquid elements that bring moisture to the recipe. To fix a dry halwa, add small amounts of hot milk, ghee, or water and keep stirring constantly until it turns creamy.
How to fix the lumpy texture of halwa?
To fix lumpy halwa, one needs to whisk it vigorously to break up lumps. If they still persist, mash them against the side of the pan with a ladle.
General tips
Overcooking the halwa makes it too thick instead of smooth.
While cutting down on ghee reduces calorie count, it also takes away the signature aroma of halwa from the recipe.
Storage And Serving Suggestions
When it comes to storage, in warm and humid weather, it is not recommended to store chocolate badam halwa at room temperature. If stored properly in airtight containers or covered tightly with plastic wrap, chocolate badam halwa can be refrigerated for 3 to 5 days. For a longer storage period, freezing is recommended.
While serving, the chocolate badam halwa can be garnished with elements like slivered almonds, pistachios, edible gold, or silver leaf. One may serve it with some chopped nuts on top of the badam halwa as well.
