Choosing the Right Buns
- Choose soft, slightly sweet buns with a light crumb for the chocolate maska bun. The buns need to be fresh, because stale buns can break or not soak up the butter well in a bun maska recipe.
Best Chocolate for Melting
- For a chocolate maska bun that melts evenly and doesn't separate, use smooth, high-quality chocolate. Don't use cheap compound chocolate because it can change the texture and finish of a Choco Bun.
- Milk buns - 2
- Butter - 2 tablespoon
- Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate - 1 packet
- Sugar - 1/2 tablespoon
- Vanilla Essence - 1/2 teaspoon
- Mixed nuts - 1 tablespoon (almonds, cashew and pistachio)
- Raisins - 1/2 tablespoon
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
Step-by-Step Instructions

Break the Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate into pieces and place it in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds.

In a bowl, take softened butter and add the melted chocolate. Stir until fully and smooth.

Then, add powdered sugar and vanilla essence. Mix gently and set aside.

In another bowl, combine roasted and chopped nuts and raisins. Add a spoonful of honey and mix well.

Slice the milk buns in half horizontally. If the buns are larger, you can cut them into halves or quarters.

On the cut side of each bun, spread a generous spoonful of the chocolate sauce.

Add a spoonful of the nut and raisin mixture on top of the chocolate spread.

Close the buns with the top half.

Place the assembled buns on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake at 170°C for 4-5 minutes, or until the chocolate filling is melted and the buns are slightly golden.

Once baked, garnish with melted chocolate and chopped dry nuts on top. Serve warm and enjoy the delightful combination of chocolate, nuts, and raisins inside the soft and crispy buns.
Bun Slicing: Use a sharp knife to cut the bun without squishing it. For the chocolate maska bun, don't press down. This keeps the structure light and helps the bun maska recipe hold fillings evenly without getting flat.
Use of Butter: Be careful how much butter you use; too much can make the base greasy. A thin, even layer in a Choco Bun is all you need to hold up the chocolate and keep it balanced.
Put together just before serving: Make the chocolate maska bun close to when you want to serve it so that the bun stays soft and the filling stays smooth. This keeps the texture the same in any bun maska recipe.
- You can add a thin layer of peanut butter or hazelnut spread to the chocolate maska bun to change the flavor without changing the base recipe.
- You can add sliced strawberries or bananas to a Choco Bun to make it taste fresh. This change adds natural sweetness without changing the main structure.
- Adding crushed cookies or toasted nuts to the inside of a chocolate maska bun gives it a little crunch, which makes the bun maska recipe even better.
If you want the chocolate maska bun to stay soft and the filling to stay smooth and evenly spread, you should eat it right away.
When you store them, keep the buns and the chocolate filling separate. This keeps the bun maska from getting soggy and helps it keep its original texture.
