Ingredients:

Recipe For Iced Coffee Chocolate Milkshake With Pistachio
  • 1 cup brewed coffee, chilled
  • 2 cups chocolate ice cream
  • 1/2 cup milk (adjust to desired thickness)
  • 2 tbsp chocolate syrup (plus more for garnish)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream, for topping
  • 2 tbsp crushed pistachios, for sprinkle
  • Ice cubes

Instructions:

Step 1: Chill the Glasses

To keep the beverage chilled for long, you have to chill the serving glasses as well. This is a perfect hack for when you want to decorate the glass and keep the decorations intact for a long time. Place the serving glasses in the freezer for about 5 to 10 minutes until it is completely chilled and gets some ice flakes on the surface.

Step 2: Brew and Chill the Coffee

Now it is time to prepare the coffee for the base of iced coffee. Brew the coffee powder in warm water until it gets a concentrated coffee flavor. For this, you can use instant coffee powder, ground coffee, or even espresso. If you are using instant coffee powder, mic 1-2 teaspoons of it with ¼ cup of hot water and then stir it until totally dissolved. Once the coffee is brewed, allow it to cool down to room temperature then refrigerate it until its chilled. This helps in preventing the ice cream from melting too quickly from the heat of coffee. It also keeps the milkshake cold and creamy.

Step 3: Blend the Base

Step 3 Blend The Base

With the glasses and coffee prepared, it is now time to make the base of the milkshake. Take a blender and combine chilled coffee, chocolate ice cream, milk, chocolate syrup, and vanilla extract in it. Blend the mixture on full speed until it turns smooth and creamy. Once it is blended well, add a few ice cubes and blend again if you like the milkshake cold, thin, and frothy. Ice cubes help in chilling the ingredients while it is blending which also gives the milkshake a thicker and frothy texture.

Step 4: Decorate the Glasses

Decorate the chilled glasses before pouring in the milkshake to make the beverage look more appealing. Start by decorating the inner walls of the chilled glass with the drizzle of chocolate syrup. Drizzle chocolate syrup in a circular pattern inside the glass and create a design on the inner walls that is visible from the outside. You can also add a base of crushed Oreo cookies for a crunchy texture.

Step 5: Pour the Milkshake and Garnish it

Now it is time to pour the milkshake into glasses finally. Slowly pour the milkshake into the decorated glasses without disturbing the chocolate drizzle on the walls. Once the glass is full, top it off with a generous amount of whipped cream and sprinkle some crushed pistachios over it. You can also drizzle some chocolate syrup on top of the whipped cream and pistachios for an eccentric appearance. Serve the milkshake immediately with a straw or a spoon or both!

Tips For Variations To Try With Coffee Chocolate Milkshake With Pistachio:

Tips For Variations To Try With Coffee Chocolate Milkshake With Pistachio
  • Use espresso instead of regular instant coffee power to get a stronger coffee kick in every sip. Brewed espresso that is made out of beans is a perfect way to add the authentic coffee flavor into your shake.
  • Switch chocolate ice cream with mocha or coffee flavored ice cream to enhance the depth of flavor and add a refreshing punch. You can also experiment with other ice cream flavors such as vanilla ice cream or pistachio ice cream depending on your flavor preferences.
  • Add a pinch of sea salt to enhance the depth of chocolate flavor and intensify the sweetness of the milkshake. Sea salt gives a contrasting touch to the sweet flavor which in turn helps in making the milkshake extra sweet without the addition of much sugar.
