For the Recipe

  • Paneer (grated) - 1 1/2 cups
  • Cadbury Cocoa powder - 2 tbsp
  • Powdered sugar - 1 tsp (adjust as per taste)
  • Chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews) & raisins - 1 tsp
  • Ghee for greasing the mould - 1 / 2 tsp or as required
  • For garnishing - Silver / golden warq (optional)

Directions

1. Finely crumble or grate the paneer until smooth and lump-free.

2. In a non-stick pan, combine paneer with powdered sugar.

3. Cook on low heat for 4–5 minutes, stirring continuously until the mixture comes together and leaves the sides of the pan.

4. Take out a small portion of the mixture for later use (for the filling) and add cocoa powder to the pan; mix well to combine everything.

5. Allow the mixture to cool slightly until comfortable to handle.

6. In the other half of the mixture, add chopped nuts and raisins. Mix well.

7. Grease a modak mould lightly with ghee. Fill the mould with the cocoa-paneer mixture.

8. Now add the filling and press gently.

9. Unmould carefully and place on a plate. Repeat with the remaining mixture. Refrigerate for 20–30 minutes before serving for the best texture. Additionally, garnish with silver/golden warq before serving.
