Sandwich

Sandwich

A dessert sandwich combines sweet fillings like chocolate, ice cream, fruits, cream cheese, whipped cream, or spreads between bread, cookies, waffles, or biscuits. Avoid overly wet fillings, as they can make the sandwich soggy.

Place any chosen sweet filling between two slices of bread, cookies, or waffles, and serve it cold or toasted a little. Add fruits or nuts to make the dish more tasty. Avoid overfilling, or the sandwich becomes difficult to eat.

The examples are chocolate sandwiches, ice cream sandwiches, fruit-and-cream sandwiches, peanut butter-and-banana sandwiches, Nutella-marshmallow sandwiches, and cookie-ice cream sandwiches. Do not choose combinations that could make each bite too sweet.

Put a scoop of the softened ice cream between the two slices of cookies, brownies or pieces of cake, press gently, and freeze till it becomes hard. Do not use the melted ice cream, as it can make a messy dessert.

Put melted chocolate, chocolate hazelnut spread, or cream between slices of bread or cookies. You can add bananas, strawberries or nuts to make it tastier. Do not use hot chocolate as it can soften the base too quickly.

Apply whipped cream or cream cheese to the soft bread, put slices of strawberries, mango, kiwi or grapes, and leave it in the fridge before serving. Take care when choosing fruits, as juicy ones contain too much water, which will spoil the bread.

It is best to use chocolate spread, peanut butter, whipped cream, mascarpone, cream cheese, fruit preserves, fresh fruits, cookie butter, or ice cream as a filling. Do not use the filling with too much water in it.

Use soft milk bread, brioche, or even fresh white bread as it is soft and fluffy. Avoid stale or heavily seeded bread, as it affects sweetness.

Dark, milk, or semi-sweet chocolate that melts well and spreads easily is preferable. The chocolate hazelnut spread can also be used. It is better not to use low-quality compound chocolate.
