For the Recipe
- Cashews (chopped): 1 / 2 cup
- Almonds (chopped): 1 / 2 cup
- Walnuts (chopped): 1 / 2 cup
- Golden Raisins: 1 / 4 cup
- Ghee: 2 tbsp
- Khoya / Mawa: ½ cup, crumbled
- Full-fat Milk: 1 / 2 cup
- Sugar: 1 / 2 cup
- Cardamom Powder: 1 / 4 tsp
- Saffron Milk: 2–3 tbsp
- Cocoa Powder (optional step): 2–3 tbsp
- Slivered Almonds: 1–2 tbsp
- Silver Leaf (vark): 1 sheet (optional)
Directions

Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan. Add the chopped cashews, almonds, walnuts, and raisins. Sauté on medium-low heat until golden and fragrant.

Add 200g crumbled khoya and 1 cup milk directly to the pan. Stir continuously on medium heat until the khoya melts and combines with the milk.

Add 1/2 cup sugar for sweetness; you can use jaggery as well.

Add 1/4 tsp cardamom powder. Stir as the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens.

Pour in 2–3 tbsp saffron milk.

Add Cadbury cocoa powder with warm milk.

Pour in the milk & cook on low heat, stirring continuously, until the halwa thickens & turns a rich golden-brown color, and ghee begins to separate from the sides.

Transfer to a plate, garnish with some chopped almonds & silver leaf (vark).
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
Nut Substitutions: You can easily add walnuts, raisins, or dried cranberries depending on your preference.
