Servings
For the Recipe
- Full Cream Milk - 1 liter
- Sugar -1/2 cup (or as per your taste)
- Milk Powder - 2 tsp
- Cardamom powder - 1 tsp (adjust as per your taste)
- Chopped dry fruits (almonds, pistachios and cashew nuts)
- Cadbury Cocoa Powder - 1 tsp
- Mango (puree) - 1/2 cup
Directions

In a pan, bring the milk to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 30–35 minutes, stirring frequently and scraping down the sides to prevent sticking or burning.

Once the milk has reduced to about two-thirds of its original volume, add milk powder.

Stir in powdered sugar and stir until completely dissolved.

Stir in the chopped nuts.

Add the cardamom powder, then simmer for another 2–3 minutes. Turn off the heat.

Divide the prepared basundi into two separate bowls. Allow one bowl to cool completely (you can refrigerate). Add Cadbury Cocoa Powder to the remaining hot basundi and let it mix completely.

Continue stirring until the cocoa powder is thoroughly incorporated with no lumps remaining.

Puree some chopped mangoes into a smooth pulp, then mix the mango puree into the cooled bowl of basundi. Stir well to blend evenly.

Refrigerate both versions of the basundi for at least 30 minutes. To serve, layer the two flavors in individual bowls or create two layers in a single bowl, as per your preference. Garnish with additional chopped mangoes and dry fruits. Enjoy.
Serve chilled.
