Servings
For the Recipe
- Cadbury Bournville Chocolate - 1 packet
- Khowa (mawa) - 1 & 1/2 cup
- Powdered sugar - 1/2 cup
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
- Chopped pistachio (optional) - 1 tsp
- Silver warq (for garnishing) - optional
Directions

In a pan over low heat, add the khowa and let it melt gently, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.

Once the khowa is smooth and melted, add powdered sugar and mix well.

Add cardamom powder and continue stirring until everything is fully combined and the mixture thickens slightly.

Remove from heat and divide the mixture into two equal portions. To one portion, add the grated Bournville chocolate and mix until the chocolate is fully incorporated and the mixture is uniform in color.

If the dough is too sticky, refrigerate both portions for 10–15 minutes to firm up.

On a sheet of parchment paper, roll out both mixtures side by side in parallel strips. Press gently to create an even, uniform layer.

Sprinkle chopped pistachios over the top. If desired, garnish with silver warq for an elegant finish. Allow the barfi to set at room temperature for 15–20 minutes. Then, cut into square or diamond shapes to reveal the beautiful two-tone pattern. Serve and enjoy the rich, chocolatey bites!
