Recipe for Fresh Strawberry Smoothie with Pistachio

Ingredients:
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 2 tbsp raw or roasted pistachios
- ½ frozen banana
- 1 tbsp rolled oats
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp honey or 1 Medjool date
Instructions:
Step 1: Soak the Pistachios
When adding nuts like pistachios, it is best to soak them in warm water to losen up the hardness and blend homogeneously in the smoothie. Therefore, soak raw pistachios in warm water for about 10 minutes or more to soften them and make blending easier.
When you are short of time and don't have much time to soak pistachios or if you are using roasted pistachios, you can skip this step and go for being pistachios directly.
Step 2: Prepare Banana
Peel and slice the bananas into chunks. Freeze these banana chunks in the freezer for a few hours until they are solid. You can do this step beforehand and let bananas sit in the fridge overnight before using to make the smoothie. Using frozen bananas helps in making the smoothie thicker and creamier without the need to add ice cream.
Step 3: Add Ingredients to Blender

You have to blend the ingredients in certain order to ensure the smoothie turns out evenly smooth. First, add 1 cup of almond milk or oat milk then add soaked drained pistachios to it. Pulse this at high speed until blended. After this, add the frozen banana chunks and frozen strawberries along with rolled oats and vanilla extract for a floral flavor. Pulse the ingredients one more time. Then, add the sweeter like dates or honey for the sweeter flavor.
Step 4: Blend Until Smooth
Once the ingredients are integrated, slowly pulse the smoothie until it reaches a thick consistency. You can also blend in some ice cubes to make it thicker. And at this point, you can add more protein additions like protein powder, matcha, and more. Blend the mixture for 45-60 seconds. If the mixture sticks to the side, use a spoon to scrape it down and bring to the center for even blending.
Step 5: Taste and Adjust
Once the smoothie is blended to desired consistency, it is time to taste and adjust the flavor. If you want it more sweet, add a little more honey or another date. If the smoothie is too thick, add some more almond milk to thin it down a bit. And if the smoothie is too thin, you can blend in more frozen strawberries and oats.
Step 6: Serve Right Away

Pour the smoothie into tall glasses, garnish it with crushed pistachios, chia seeds, or sliced strawberries. For the presentation, you can drizzle some strawberry sauce on the inner walls of the glass for style. Serve the smoothie and enjoy.
