Servings
For the Recipe
- Cadbury Cocoa powder: 3 tsp
- Atta (Whole wheat flour): 1 / 4 cup
- Maida (All-purpose flour): 1 / 4 cup
- Ghee: 1 / 4 cup
- Salt: Pinch
- Grated coconut: 1 / 2 cup
- Jaggery powder: 1 / 4 cup
- Water: 1 cup
- Cardamom powder: 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder: A pinch (for the dough)
Directions

Combine maida, atta, a pinch of turmeric powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. Add a spoonful of ghee.

Now gradually knead using warm water into a smooth, pliable dough.

Once the dough is ready, let it rest for 10 minutes.

Heat a pan with a little water and add the jaggery, stirring continuously until it completely dissolves into a syrup.

Stir the grated coconut into the melted jaggery syrup.

Once the coconut is mixed with the jaggery syrup, add Cadbury cocoa powder to the pan.

Add cardamom powder for a beautiful flavor.

Now mix everything over low heat thoroughly until it thickens into a cohesive, shapeable filling dough. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Divide the outer dough and the coconut-cocoa filling into equal-sized small balls. Flatten an outer dough ball, place a filling ball in the center, and bring the edges together to seal it completely.

Dust the stuffed ball lightly and roll it out gently into a flat roti.

Heat a pan, place the rolled poli on it, and fry on both sides using a little ghee until golden spots appear.

Transfer it to a plate and serve warm.
-
Keep the outer dough slightly softer than regular roti dough so it stretches easily without tearing when stuffed.
-
Store at room temperature for up to 1 to 2 days if weather permits.
