Servings
For the Recipe
- Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate
- Full Cream Milk - 1 / 2 liter
- Jaggery powder - 2 tsp (adjust as per taste)
- Kerala Red Matta Rice - 1 / 2 cup
- Cashew nuts - 1 / 3 cup
- Raisin - 1 / 2 cup
- Ghee - 2 tsp
- Cardamom powder - ½ tsp
Directions

Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a pan or kadai on low heat. Add rice (washed and soaked for 30 minutes) and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant without browning the grains.

Pour pre-boiled full-fat milk into the pan with the rice and stir well.

Cook on a low to medium-low flame for 30 to 45 minutes, stirring often at regular intervals to prevent the milk from scorching at the bottom or spilling over. Scrape down the cream collected on the sides. Continue simmering until the rice grains are completely soft and mashed easily, and the milk has reduced, thickened, and turned a light cream or pinkish hue.

Add jaggery powder and mix well until dissolved. Simmer for another 2 to 3 minutes

Add cardamom powder and mix again

Now add Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate pieces to the payasam and give it a gentle mix until the chocolates are nicely incorporated into the payasam and you can see the creamy and chocolatey texture.

Heat the ghee in a small pan. Fry the cashews until golden, then add the raisins and fry until they puff up.

Pour the roasted nuts and ghee over the payasam and give it a final stir.

Pour into a serving dish, sprinkle some nuts on top, and serve warm or chilled
