For Oreo Milkshake Recipe
- 1 tbsp Oreo Milkshake MixBuy
- 1 cup Cold milk (Full fat milk is ideal)
- ½ cup Vanilla ice cream
- 1 tsp Cocoa powder
- 1 tsp Vanilla essence (optional)
- 3-4 no's Oreo biscuits (For Garnishing)
Oreo biscuits form the basis for this recipe. They are utilized in their entirety, including their filling, and provide richness as well as sweetness.
Milk will act as the liquid element that holds all of these ingredients together. Full-fat milk should be the milk of choice as it has a greater percentage of fat, thereby creating a thicker and creamier shake than skim or low-fat milk.
Vanilla ice cream creates the body of the shake by providing mass while enabling it to be very thick and amorphous in terms of being spoonable, like would be seen in a café-style portion.
The addition of the Cadbury Oreo milkshake mix is an incredibly important addition to this version. It is essentially the “star” ingredient of a delicious Oreo milkshake. It reinforces the chocolate-cookie flavor and produces better consistency throughout the shake.
Chocolate syrup is used for functionality as well as sweetness. The chocolate syrup is necessary for producing the layered look within the glass, as well as providing a subtle flavor of chocolate to the shake.

Measure all ingredients.

Put vanilla ice cream, milk & cocoa powder in a blender.

Add Oreo milkshake mix in the blender along with vanilla essence.

Blend everything together until smooth and creamy.

To get the right consistency, small adjustments usually work better than large ones. One way to control the thickness is by using frozen milk cubes instead of regular ice to prevent diluting the flavor of your shake. This is a common practice in beverage-making to manage the texture of drinks.
Another factor in thickening your shake is the ratio of milk to ice cream. The more ice cream and the less milk you use, the thicker the dessert-like shake it becomes.
Lastly, blending time has an effect on your shake. If you blend for too long, you may break down the cookie texture completely and have a thinner liquid. Blending for a shorter time will keep your mixture thick and may leave small pieces of cookie, which will provide a different mouthfeel.
When you create a layered Oreo milkshake, your primary focus is on how the milkshake looks. But you want it to taste great, too. Begin by placing about 1 teaspoon of chocolate syrup into the serving glass. Gently rotate the cup to ensure the syrup coats the inside and bottom of the glass.
Finely chop approximately 4 Oreo cookies separately. After you have blended the milkshake mixture, pour it into your glass that has been prepared with the syrup. You will be able to see the streaks of the syrup as it creates distinct layers on the inside of the glass.
To finish off the milkshake, place the chopped cookies on top. This will give you a contrasting texture with the smooth liquid and small crunchy pieces. Thus, the final product is both visually pleasing and texturally interesting. This format is commonly used when serving guests or for presenting dessert-style drinks.
Add ½ teaspoon of instant coffee to the blender with the base ingredients to create a mocha-style Oreo milkshake. This allows for the addition of caffeine, while the bitterness of the coffee offsets the sweetness of the Oreos and the ice cream.
This will retain the same texture and will change the flavor to be less sweet, while still being balanced and mildly bitter. This version of the Oreo milkshake is perfect for use as a nighttime drink and can be served with desserts that do not contain an overwhelming amount of chocolate.
The way a drink is presented has an impact on how it is perceived. Coating the rim of a glass with chocolate fudge will add to the aesthetic of the drink, along with additional flavor as well.
Adding whipped cream to the top of the milkshake creates additional volume and a contrast in texture between the dense shake and the lighter topping. Crushed Oreos sprinkled over the whipped cream give the drink visual interest and added texture.
Chocolate shavings and/or a drizzle of syrup could be added depending on the level of richness desired. When serving the Oreo shake, it is important to serve it immediately after preparation in order to preserve the shake's texture and integrity.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make this without a blender?
Yes. If you do not have access to a blender, you can use a food processor to crush the Oreos into a fine powder. The only difference will be a tiny bit of texture to the shake. However, the shake will still be very thick and will just not be quite as smooth.
Is this recipe vegan-friendly?
Yes, you can make the recipe vegan-friendly substitutes, such as almond or oat milk for regular milk and dairy-free ice cream for regular ice cream. These vegan-friendly substitutions will allow the shake to remain structurally intact while modifying it for dietary restrictions.
How many calories are in an Oreo shake?
A regular-size Oreo shake is usually between 300 and 400 kcal. The amount of calories in the shake may change according to what type of milk fat content is used in the recipe, as well as how much ice cream is added to the shake.
