
Oreo Jaggery Modak Recipe

Everyone loves modaks filled with jaggary. But add Oreos to the dough and wrap the jaggary in it?! That’s a modak that’ll play on everyone’s tastebuds!

For the Recipe
- Grated coconut
- Oreo
- Jaggery
- Saffron
- Nutmeg (Jaiphal)
- Cardamom (Ilaichi)
- Water
- Ghee
- Salt
- Fine rice flour
Directions
Lightly roast coconut, then mix with jaggery, saffron, nutmeg, and cardamom. Cook on low for 2–3 mins until blended.
Boil water with salt and a little ghee. Add Oreo, rice flour, mix well, and cover for 2–3 mins. Cool slightly and knead with more ghee and warm water into a soft dough.
Grease a modak mold. Fill with dough, add 2 tsp of filling, seal, and gently remove from mold.
Steam for 10 mins on low-medium heat. Cool slightly before serving.
Instant Pot: Pressure cook on low for 6 mins with natural release.
Use fine rice flour, knead well, and grease the mold to avoid sticking. Ensure filling is dry to prevent leaks.
