For the Recipe
- 5 pieces Cadbury Bournville
- 3 / 4 cup milk
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 2.5 tbs sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp cream
Directions

In a small bowl, whisk the cornstarch, cocoa powder, and about 2 tablespoons of the cold milk together. Mix until it’s a smooth paste with no lumps.

Pour the remaining milk into a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the sugar and salt.

Once the milk is steaming, add the chopped Bournville chocolate.

Whisk constantly until the chocolate is completely melted and the milk turns a deep brown.

Pour your cornstarch slurry into the pot.

Keep whisking. Simmer for about 30–60 seconds while whisking until you reach your desired thickness.

To make it truly "Italian café" style, serve it in a small cup with a dollop of unsweetened whipped cream on top to balance the richness.
You can add a pinch of salt and orange zest for extra flavour.
