Bingsu is a special part of Korean food culture, especially in the summer when it's hot— cold desserts are a big relief. Flavored syrups are used to make traditional Western shaved ice, but Korean bingsu is made with finely textured milk ice that looks like fresh snow. For the Recipe

  • 8 pieces Cadbury Bournville Dark Chocolate
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ cup condensed milk
  • 6 pieces cake slices
  • 1 scoop ice cream

Directions

Step 1

In a bowl, whisk together the milk and condensed milk and mix them properly.

Pour the mixture into a large Ziploc freezer bag or a flat glass tray. Keep it in the freezer for about 9-10 hours.

Once frozen solid, take it out. Use a rolling pin or a heavy spoon to smash the ice until it reaches a fine, flaky consistency. Alternatively, you can run the frozen chunks through a blender on a low pulse setting for 5 seconds. Pour half of the milk snow into a chilled bowl.

Break Bournville chocolate into a bowl & microwave for 1 minute.

Now pour melted chocolate all over it.

Garnish with 1 scoop of ice cream and serve immediately.

Tips:

Put your serving bowl in the freezer for 10 minutes before assembling so the bingsu doesn't melt instantly.
