For the Recipe
- Ghee - 1/2 cup
- Besan - 1 cup
- Cadbury Cocoa Powder - 3 tsp
- Sugar - 1 cup (or as per your taste)
- Chopped nuts - 1 tsp
- Cardamom Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Silver warq for garnishing (optional)
Directions

In a pan, heat ghee on a low to medium flame. Once warm, add besan (gram flour) to the pan.

Stir the besan continuously using a spatula or wooden spoon to avoid burning. Roast on low to medium heat for about 10–12 minutes, or until the besan turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma.

Once the besan is evenly roasted, add 3/4 cup of powdered sugar (or adjust to taste).

Keep stirring until the sugar melts and fully combines with the besan and ghee mixture. The mixture should look glossy and smooth.

Add Cadbury Cocoa Powder. Mix well until it is evenly blended into the mixture, giving it a rich chocolate color.

Stir in 2–3 tablespoons of finely chopped nuts such as almonds, cashews, or pistachios for added texture and flavor.

Sprinkle cardamom powder (elaichi) into the mixture and stir well to incorporate the aromatic spice.

Continue mixing until the mixture thickens and comes together into a soft, moldable dough. Turn off the heat and let it rest for about 5 minutes to cool slightly.

Once the mixture is cool enough to handle, grease your palms with a little ghee or oil. Take small portions of the dough and roll them into smooth, round balls (ladoo shape).

Arrange the ladoos on a serving plate. For a festive touch, you can garnish each ladoo with a small piece of edible silver leaf (silver warq), though this step is optional. Serve and enjoy.
Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 5–6 days at room temperature.
