For the Recipe
- Oreo cookies: 10–12 cookies
- Full-cream milk: 2.5 cups
- Sweetened condensed milk: 1 / 2 cup
- Cardamom powder: 1 / 2 tsp
- Saffron milk: 8–10 strands + 2 tbsp warm milk
- Sliced nuts (Almonds & Pistachios): 2 tbsp
Directions

Bring full-cream milk to a boil in a heavy-bottomed pan. Lower the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally and scraping cream off the sides, until reduced to half its original volume (25–30 mins).

Stir in condensed milk and cardamom powder.

Add saffron-infused milk & simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

Add chopped dry fruits & mix. Cook for another 2 minutes.

Allow to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until thoroughly chilled.

Coarsely crush 8 Oreos using your hand. Keep some bite-sized chunks.

In a serving glass or bowl, pour the chilled basundi, then add the Oreo crumbs.

Garnish with sliced nuts and a whole Oreo in the middle. Serve immediately.
Crunch Control: Assemble right before serving so the Oreo layers stay crunchy.
