As the name suggests, this matcha cocoa drink is a perfect blend of earthy, vibrant notes of Japanese matcha with the richness of hot chocolate. For the Recipe

  • Cocoa powder: 2 spoons
  • Matcha Powder: 1 tsp
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk: 2 tsp
  • Ice Cubes: 1 cup
  • Whole Milk (or Oat): ⅔ cup
  • Melted dark chocolate: 2.5 tbsp

Directions

In your serving glass, combine the 5g matcha powder and condensed milk.

Whisk until no clumps remain and stir until you have a smooth, thick green paste.

Slowly pour the matcha drink into a glass.

Fill the glass to the brim with ice.

Slowly pour 150ml of milk over the ice. If you pour it gently over the back of a spoon, you’ll keep the green base and white milk beautifully separated.

In a separate small bowl, combine milk along with 15g of chocolate liquid.

Combine cocoa powder for more richness.

Use a hand frother for about 20–30 seconds until the mixture is aerated, thick, and doubled in volume

Gently pour the frothed cocoa mixture over the top of the iced milk. Serve chilled.

Tips:

Lightly sift a tiny bit of extra cocoa powder over the foam.
