Sweet and Simple: Easy Cinnamon Fritters to Make in a Jiffy

By Deepali Verma

Heat Skillet

To get started, you'll want to heat up about 2-3 inches of oil in a big skillet or Dutch oven. Make sure it gets nice and hot, reaching a temperature of around 190 Degree C.

Make Wet Mix

To make the batter, start by whisking together the milk, egg, and melted butter in a small bowl until they are well combined. Once that's done, pour this mixture into the bowl with the flour. Stir everything until just combined.

Note

When adding oil to the skillet, make sure there’s at least 3 inches of space between the top of the oil and the top of the pot.

Ingredients

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup milk
1/3 cup sugar
1 large egg
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 ½ tsp baking powder
1 ½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp salt
Powdered sugar, garnish
Vegetable oil, for frying

Combine Dry Ingredients

In a big bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

Deep Fry

To make delicious fried treats, simply use a spoon to carefully drop generous portions of batter into the hot oil. Fry them in small batches of 4-6, remembering to flip them occasionally, until they turn a beautiful golden brown on all sides. It takes approximately three minutes.

Drain Oil

Use a slotted spoon to take out the fritters and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to let the excess oil drain. After that, generously sprinkle powdered sugar over them.
