Recipe For Brazilian Sonho: Dreamy Custard-Filled Pastries

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour 1/4 cup sugar 1 packet instant yeast 3/4 cup warm milk 2 tbsp butter 2 eggs 1/2 cup custard or cream filling

Make Dough

Mix flour, sugar, and yeast. Add warm milk, butter, and eggs then knead it to a soft dough.

Let Rest

Cover the dough with a cloth and let rise for 2 hours until it doubles in size.

Shape

Shape the dough in small balls and let rest for 20 minutes.

Fry

Deep-fry the balls in hot oil until they are evenly golden and once done, drain on paper towel.

Fill

Fill the cooled balls with custard and dust with sugar for serving.
