One-Pot Pongal Recipe For Busy Festive Days

Ingredients

1 cup rice
1/4 cup moong dal
2 1/2 cups water
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 tbsp ghee
Salt to taste

Wash and Prepare

Rinse rice and moong dal together. Heat pressure cooker and add ghee to melt.

Prepare Temper

Add cumin seeds and black pepper to ghee and saute for 30 seconds.

Cook Pongal

Add rinsed moong dal and rice to cooker. Saute for few minutes then add water. Pressure cook it for 3 whistles.

Mix and Serve

Open lid and give it a good stir. Serve it hot with roasted dry fruits.
