1 1/2 cups pitted dates
1 1/4 cups boiling water
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
Add chopped dates to boiling water and stir in baking soda. Let it sit for 10 minutes until it softens.
