Ingredients

1 cup pitted dates
1 cup boiling water
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter
2 large eggs
1 cup self-rising flour

Prepare Dates

Add soda to boiling water, then add dates and let sit for 10 minutes.

Mix Batter

Beat butter and sugar together then add eggs one by one. Stir in the dates mixture and add self-rising flour. Mix well.

Bake

Pour the batter into a greased 8-inch pan. Bake at 175°C for 25-30 minutes.

Serve

Drizzle with caramel sauce and serve the pudding warm.
