1 cup semolina (suji) or almond flour
1/2 cup sugar or jaggery
1/4 cup ghee
2 cups almond or oat milk
1/4 cup chopped nuts (pistachios, almonds, or cashews)
1/4 tsp ground cardamom
1/8 tsp saffron strands
1 tbsp crushed pistachios or edible gold leaf for garnish
Heat ghee and add semolina or almond flour. Stir until golden and pour oat milk, sugar, jaggery, cardamom, and saffron water. Mix well.
Pour halva into a lined baking pan and spread evenly with spatula. Let cool.
Top halwa with dry fruits. Chill the halwa and slice into bite-sized barfis.
