1/4 cup short grain rice (soaked)
4 cups full-fat milk
1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1 tbsp ghee
Dry fruits of choice
Combine soaked rice and milk in a pan and boil on medium heat. Once it boils up, reduce the heat and let simmer until rice is cooked and milk is thick.
Add sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well and add coconut milk for more creaminess.
Heat ghee and roast nuts like cashews and pistachios. Add some raisins too for enhanced flavor.
In the same pan, roast almonds, cashews, and coconut flakes in ghee for topping. Add melted chocolate to roasted nuts.
Pour the prepared thick payasam into serving bowls. Top it off with nuts and raisins. Drizzle melted chocolate and serve warm.
