How To Make Traditional Motichoor Laddoo For Diwali

Ingredients

1 cup gram flour
3/4 cup water
A pinch of orange food color
Ghee or oil for deep frying
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder

Make Boondi Batter

Combine besan and water in a bowl. Mix well to make a smooth batter and add food coloring.

Fry boondi

Heat oil and drop the batter in hot oil using perforated spoon to make small drips. Fry until the drops holds a shape but not crispy.

Make Sugar Syrup

Drain the boondi on paper. Make a thick sugar syrup with water, sugar and cardamom powder.

Mix Boondi with Sugar Syrup

Once syrup is done, add fried boondi to it and mix until well coated. Leave for 10 minutes to soak well.

Shape Laddoos

Shape the coated boondis to laddos with greased hands and garnish with chopped nuts.
