How To Make French Toast Bread Pudding With A Decadent Twist

Ingredients:

6 thick bread slices
2 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
4 large eggs
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
Powdered sugar for garnish
Maple syrup for serving

Prepare

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare 9x13-inch baking dish by greasing and lining it.

Make French Toast

Cut bread to cubes and arrange evenly in greased dish

Make Custard Mixture

Whisk milk, heavy cream, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla and cinnamon in a bowl. Add nutmeg and combine well.

Combine and soak

Pour custard mixture on bread cubes and press them gently to soak them properly. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts on top.

Bake and serve

Once bread absorbs custard, bake it for 35-40 minutes until top looks golden brown. Once baked, dust with sugar and serve.
