How To Make A Healthy Bread Dessert Using Whole-Grain Bread

Ingredients:

4 slices of whole-grain bread
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ cup mixed berries
¼ cup chopped nuts
Greek yogurt

Prepare

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a small baking dish. Arrange cubed whole grain bread in the greased dish leaving no gaps.

Make Custard

Whisk almond milk, eggs, honey, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl until its well combined. Add fruits, berries and chopped nuts on the bread.

Pour the custard

Pour the prepared custard into the bread cubes and press it gently to ensure it absorbed all the liquid.

Bake

Place the dish in a preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. Once the custard appears golden brown, take it out.

Serve

Let dessert cool then scoop it out on serving plates and garnish with Greek yogurt and a drizzle of honey.
