Goan-Style Banana Cake: A Sweet Indian Classic

Ingredients

2 ripe bananas, mashed
100 g all-purpose flour
50 g grated coconut
100 g sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
1/4 tsp cardamom powder
2 tbsp ghee or butter
1 egg
50 ml milk

Get The Batter Ready

In a bowl, combine the sugar, egg, ghee, milk, spices, and mashed bananas.

Mix The Dry Ingredients Together

Sift the flour, baking soda, and coconut in a separate bowl, then blend them into the wet mixture.

Bake

Fill a greased cake pan with batter, then bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean, at 180°C (350°F).

Serve

Slice and serve the cake after allowing it to cool.
