DIY Puff Pastry Sheets: A Beginner’s Guide

Ingredients

2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (120ml) cold water
1 cup (225g) unsalted butter (cold but pliable)

Prepare the Dough

Mix flour, salt and cold water. Make a smooth dough then chill.

Prepare the Butter Block

Fill cold butter in zip lock bag, seal the bag and flatten the butter with a roller. Once done, chill it to set then strip the bag open to take it out.

Layer and Fold

Roll out the dough, place butter block, fold the dough in and roll again. Repeat folding 3-4 times.

Final Chill

Wrap the rolled dough and chill until the use.
