Authentic Chana Dal Halwa Recipe To Sweeten Your Guru Nanak Jayanti

Ingredients

150g chana dal, soaked for 3-4 hours
120g ghee
150g sugar
400ml milk
1 tsp cardamom powder
20g chopped nuts (almonds, cashews)

Soak The Chana Dal

After draining, roughly blend the soaked chana dal.

Roast The Ground Dal

Add the ground dal to a heavy pan with heated ghee. Roast over medium heat until golden brown and fragrant with nuts.

Add Milk

Add milk gradually, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Simmer till the milk is absorbed by the dal.

Thicken The Mixture

Stir in sugar and keep cooking until the mixture thickens and separates from the pan's sides.

Garnish And Serve

Stir in chopped nuts and cardamom powder. Serve warm.
