1 cup pitted dates
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 cup thick yogurt or Greek yogurt
1/4 cup milk or plant-based milk
1/2 tsp cinnamon or cardamom powder
Honey or maple syrup to taste
Crushed pistachios or coconut flakes for garnish
Soak pitted dates in warm water for 10 minutes. Drain and puree them. Set aside.
Lightly toast walnuts in a dry pan and add it to the dates puree. Pulse to mix well.
Now add yogurt, milk, and spices of choice to the dates mixture and blend to make a thick and creamy base. Add a sweetener of choice.
Transfer the mixture to a silicone mold. Freeze for 2-3 hours. Scoop the creamy dessert into bowls and garnish to serve.
