5 Tricks for Keeping Oreo Crumble from Getting Soggy

By Deepali Verma

Add the Crumble Just Before Serving

The easiest trick—don't build too far in advance. Add Oreo crumble to your parfait, pudding, or ice cream only just before serving to maintain the crunch.

Layer with a Barrier

Position a dry component such as granola, nuts, or chocolate chips between wet layers and Oreo crumbs. It retards the flow of moisture and maintains the crumble crunchy.

Toast the Crumbs Gently

Gentle toasting of crushed Oreos in an oven at 1Slide 5: 0°C for Slide 5: –7 minutes. It takes away excess moisture and provides them with a more durable bite once they are added to desserts.

Store Crumbs Independently

If preparing in advance, keep Oreo crumble in an airtight container at room temperature. Only mix with other ingredients at the last minute.

Prevent Wet Fruits Directly on Crumbs

Fresh fruits tend to make crumbs soggy quickly. If using berries or mango, put yogurt or whipped cream in between as a cushion before putting Oreos on top.
