Desserts are often the highlight of any party, but the best ones strike a balance between looking impressive, tasting delicious, and being surprisingly easy to make. This Oreo stuffed candy recipe ticks all those boxes and more. It’s a no-bake delight which combines the rich, chocolatey goodness of Oreos with a candy shell that adds color, texture, and a touch of excitement.

There are several reasons this dessert works for almost any occasion. For one, there’s no baking required, making it the perfect dish to prepare on hot days or as a last minute preparation. It only calls for a few ingredients, meaning there’s minimal grocery shopping needed. It’s also highly customizable, and you can change its colors, fillings, and decorations to match your party theme. Finally, it's kid friendly, meaning that it's easy enough for children to help make, and fun enough that they’ll want to eat them all.

This dessert is essentially a chocolate coated candy shell hiding a delicious Oreo center. With the right colors and molds, you can make them look like bonbons, cake pops, or even festive truffles. So whether you're planning a birthday bash, a kids’ playdate, or a casual get together, this dish is bound to be the star of your dessert table.

Ingredients:

  • 12 Oreo cookies (regular or double-stuffed)
  • 200 g white or milk chocolate (you can also use candy melts)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for smoother chocolate)
  • Sprinkles, crushed nuts, or edible glitter (optional, for decoration)
  • Food coloring (if using white chocolate and you want color)

Method:

  • Line a tray with silicone candy molds or place mini cupcake liners on a baking tray. If you want to make pops, insert lollipop sticks into the molds or prepare the sticks separately.
  • Chop your chocolate into small pieces and place it in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and glossy. If using a double boiler, melt gently over simmering water. Add butter if you want a silkier finish.
  • Pour a small amount of the melted chocolate into each mold cavity, using the back of a spoon or a pastry brush to coat the sides. You’re essentially making a chocolate shell. Place the mold in the freezer for 10 minutes to set.
  • Take one Oreo cookie and break it in half. You can either use a full half per candy or crumble the cookie slightly to fit into smaller molds. Press the Oreo gently into the set chocolate shell. Don’t press too hard, or the shell may crack.
  • Pour more melted chocolate over the Oreo to fully cover it and seal the candy. Tap the mold gently to eliminate air bubbles and ensure an even top layer.
  • Decorate the top with sprinkles, nuts, or a drizzle of contrasting chocolate.
  • Place the molds back in the freezer for 15 minutes or until fully set. Once the chocolate is firm, pop each candy out of the mold carefully.
  • Store the candies in a cool, dry place, preferably in an airtight container. If your house is warm, refrigeration is fine, but let them come to room temperature before serving for the best texture.

Flavor options you can include:

  • Use mint flavored Oreos and top with crushed candy canes for a minty taste. You can also stick a single mint leaf on each with a bit of chocolate sauce as adhesive.
  • Add a small dollop of peanut butter with the Oreo before sealing with chocolate.
  • Place a caramel candy on top of the Oreo before sealing and drizzle with sea salt.
  • Use strawberry flavored chocolate or fill the shell with a thin layer of jam under the Oreo.
  • Use dark chocolate for a more elevated version.

Tips:

  • Don’t overheat the chocolate since it can burn easily. Stir frequently while melting.
  • Once melted, work quickly since the chocolate begins to set. So have all your ingredients laid out and ready to go.
  • Silicone molds are the best option since they make unmolding easy and keep shapes clean.

Presentation ideas:

  • Arrange in colorful wrappers on a dessert tray that’s placed in the middle of the table
  • Package individually in clear treat bags tied with ribbons and hand out as party favors
  • Serve on lollipop sticks as an elegant finger food dessert that can be served in trays

Tint white chocolate in respective shades to match your party theme, like blue or pink for baby showers, orange and black for halloween, red and green for christmas and so on.
